Madagascar, an exotic island of the East coast of Africa is the setting for the inaugural Pirogue Challenge. What is a Pirogue ??? This unique sailing craft was introduced from the East thousands of years ago, unchanged and still used by local fisherman and traders. They are fast and sail close to the wind. They can vary in length, anything from 3m - 10m. We have chosen 6m Pirogues as they are quick nimble and a hell of a lot of fun to race.

In this week long adventure. Teams of up to 2 to 3 Adventurists will pit their newly learned skills to the test against the elements of nature and "whatever" other elements get thrown at you.

One does not need to be a professional sailor or a Rock Star sailor to compete in the Pirogue Challenge. To willfully jump into a canoe made of a few planks, a precarious looking mast and a triangular piece of sacking for a sail, all you need is a rather overdeveloped sense of adventure and a lot of courage. ......"Dare to be Different."
